What it does

Runs as a proxy (headroom proxy) or wraps a coding assistant (headroom wrap claude)

! Not tested by HelloPixDig, and no measured token savings: the reel uses an illustration diagram. Information from the official README (Apache 2.0 license, very active repository in October 2026). The project also offers a “Headroom for Teams” plan. A proxy sees everything your tool sends to the model: only plug it in if you trust the code, and compare answer quality before and after.

Install it

Requirements: Python with pip. An AI tool to plug in (coding assistant or app using an API).

Install

pip install "headroom-ai[all]"
